Every morning, weather permitting, we fly over the countryside outside Marrakech as the sun comes up behind the High Atlas.
A hot air balloon in Marrakech flies at sunrise only, from fields a short drive outside the city, over villages, olive groves and farmland with the Atlas Mountains on the horizon. With us you spend 45 to 60 minutes in the air, and hotel or riad pickup, a Moroccan breakfast after landing and a flight certificate are included, from €135 per person.
Taking a hot air balloon in Marrakech means an early alarm, a quiet drive into the countryside and an hour drifting over Berber villages as the light turns gold. We are Hot Air Balloon in Marrakech, a local team of pilots and ground crew flying every morning of the year when the weather allows. We collect you, fly you safely and have you back for a late-morning coffee.
There is no afternoon or sunset flying here: the air is steadiest around dawn, so that is when every balloon goes up. Below you are olive groves, farm plots, dry riverbeds and earth-walled hamlets, with the High Atlas on the horizon and, on clear days, the city in the distance.
Plenty of people type “hot balloon air Marrakech” or “hot air balloon rides in Marrakech Morocco” when they start planning. Whatever words brought you here, this site explains the morning plainly: what is included, what it costs and what the weather can do. Booking online costs nothing upfront; we confirm by WhatsApp or email.
Whichever basket you choose, the morning comes with the transfer, mint tea on the field, the pilot's briefing, up to an hour in the air, breakfast and a certificate.

We collect you roughly 1 h 30 before sunrise – around 5:00 in summer, around 7:00 in winter. The exact time reaches you the evening before.
A short drive outside the city to the field chosen for that morning’s wind. Tea, coffee and warm msemen while the crew lays out the balloons.
The envelope fills with air and the burner lifts it upright. Your pilot gives the safety briefing in person and shows you the landing position.
45 to 60 minutes of flight, from just above the treetops up to several hundred metres, as the sun climbs over the hills.
The ground crew meets the balloon. You sit down to a Moroccan breakfast near the landing area and receive your flight certificate.
We drive you back into Marrakech. The whole morning takes about 4 to 5 hours, so the afternoon is still yours.

All three flights share the same morning: pickup, sunrise, briefing and breakfast on the ground. What changes is who shares your basket and when you eat. Prices are per person, transfers included.
Book now, pay laterWe collect you from your hotel or riad in Marrakech and drive you back afterwards. If your riad sits deep in the medina, we meet you at the nearest point a car can reach.
Before take-off your pilot talks you through the flight in person: how to stand, how the landing works and where the landing position is. The explanations carry on in the air.
We fly only at sunrise because that is when the air is settled. Later in the day the heat stirs up bumpy thermals, so we leave the afternoon sky alone.
After landing, a Moroccan breakfast waits on Berber rugs at low carved tables: msemen, amlou, honey, olives, eggs, cheese, juice, mint tea and coffee.
The pilot decides each morning. If we cancel for weather or safety, you choose a new date or a full refund. If it happens at the field, we drive you back.
Message us on WhatsApp before you book, or after. A real person from our team answers about pickup points, children, mobility or the weather.
We do not add the essentials as extras. Whichever flight you book, the hot air balloon Marrakech tour covers the whole morning from your door and back again. Details of the shared option are on the sunrise flight page.
There is no single best flight for everyone, and we would rather help you judge than claim the title. Ask any operator: is the transfer included, who gives the briefing, what happens if the weather turns, what is the breakfast, and is the price final?
Clear answers matter more than a glossy photo. Our checklist for choosing a balloon company goes through each point and shows how we answer it ourselves.
The pilot checks wind, cloud and forecast and has the final word. Some mornings we do not fly; that is the system working, not failing. Read how we decide on our cancellation and weather page.
Before sunrise it is cold, especially from December to February, and by breakfast it is warm. Bring layers, closed flat shoes and a cap.
Book your flight for one of your first mornings in Marrakech, not your last.
No. Balloons take off and fly in the countryside a short drive outside Marrakech, over farms, olive groves and villages. On a clear morning you can make out the city in the distance and the High Atlas on the horizon.
We pick you up about an hour and a half before sunrise: around 5:00 in summer and around 7:00 in winter. The exact time comes the evening before, so lay out warm clothes before bed.
Often, if places are free. Send a WhatsApp message to +212 600 643 098 with your hotel name and number of people, and we tell you whether we can take you. Earlier booking gives you more choice.
No. Booking works on a book now, pay later basis, so the website never asks for card details. We confirm your flight by WhatsApp or email and explain how payment works in that message.
The pilot makes the call that morning. If we cancel for weather or safety, you can move to another date or take a full refund. If the decision comes at the field, we drive you back to your hotel.
Yes, children fly with an adult and pay a reduced price. Send us their ages and we confirm the price and whether they can fly; the main point is that they can see over the edge of the basket comfortably.
No. In Marrakech the heat later in the day creates turbulence, so we fly only at sunrise. If you had a sunset flight in mind, dawn gives you the same soft light with calmer air.
