Quick answer

Every hot air balloon flight over Marrakech with us ends with a traditional Moroccan breakfast on Berber rugs near the landing area: bread, msemen, olive oil, honey, amlou, eggs, olives, cheese, fruit juice, mint tea and coffee. If you also want to eat in the air, our breakfast on board flight serves breakfast in the basket during the flight for €680 per person, with hotel pickup included.

A hot air balloon flight over Marrakech with traditional breakfast is not an upgrade with us – the breakfast is part of every morning we fly. Once the basket is down and the crew has the balloon under control, you walk a few steps to rugs laid on the ground, sit at low carved tables and eat properly for the first time that day. It is the moment to sit back and talk over what you have just seen.

For guests who want more, there is a second option: breakfast on board, served in the basket while you are flying. It costs €680 per person and still ends with the breakfast on the ground. Below we explain both, what is on the table and how to choose.

What is included

  • Pickup and drop-off at your hotel or riad in Marrakech
  • Tea, coffee and msemen at the launch field
  • Briefing in person from your pilot
  • 45 to 60 minutes in the air at sunrise
  • Breakfast served in the basket during the flight (breakfast on board option)
  • Traditional Moroccan breakfast on Berber rugs after landing
  • Flight certificate
  • Insurance for every flight
  • Decorated private breakfast table (on request, ask us)
  • Birthday or anniversary cake (on request)
  • Professional photographer or video (on request)
  • Private car (on request)

Your morning, step by step

  1. Pickup

We collect you from your hotel or riad – around 5:00 in summer, around 7:00 in winter. The exact time arrives the evening before.

  2. Tea at the field

After a short drive out of the city, mint tea, coffee and warm msemen keep you going while the balloons are inflated.

  3. Briefing and lift-off

The pilot briefs you in person, shows the landing position, and the basket rises as the light comes up.

  4. Breakfast on board

On the on-board option, breakfast is served to you in the basket while you fly over the fields and villages.

  5. Breakfast on the rugs

Everyone sits down at low tables on Berber rugs near the landing area for the full Moroccan breakfast and receives a certificate.

  6. Back to Marrakech

We drive you back to your hotel or riad, about 4 to 5 hours after pickup, well fed for the rest of the day.

The hot air balloon Marrakech breakfast, dish by dish

This is a Moroccan country breakfast, the kind served in Berber homes, set out on rugs and low carved wooden tables near where the balloon comes down. Every Marrakech hot air balloon flight with Berber breakfast that we run includes it, whichever option you book.

There is sweet mint tea for those who want the Moroccan way, and coffee for those who need it. Take your time – nobody is hurried back to the car.

  • Moroccan bread and warm msemen (layered pancakes)
  • Olive oil and honey for dipping
  • Amlou – a spread of almonds, argan oil and honey
  • Eggs
  • Olives and cheese
  • Fresh fruit juice
  • Mint tea and coffee

Breakfast on board: a hot air balloon sunrise breakfast, Marrakech style

With breakfast on board, you eat while you fly. Breakfast is served to you in the basket during the flight, so the sunrise and the first coffee of the day arrive together. It costs €680 per person, including the transfers, and you still sit down to the traditional breakfast on the rugs after landing.

It suits early risers who would rather not wait until landing to eat, and anyone who likes the idea of breakfast with a view nobody else at their hotel will have. For the exact menu served in the air, ask us when you book and we tell you what to expect.

If eating in the air matters less than the price, the shared sunrise flight at €135 includes the same breakfast after landing.

Booking a hot air balloon ride with breakfast: Marrakech options compared

All three of our flights include breakfast after landing. The choice is really about whether you eat in the air too, and who shares your basket.

Making the breakfast part of an occasion

Breakfast is where a lot of celebrations happen. A couple who have just landed tend to be relaxed and happy, and a table set aside for them makes the moment feel considered. On request we decorate a private breakfast table, bring a cake for a birthday or anniversary, or arrange a photographer to catch the scene.

These touches work best with a private balloon, where the whole morning belongs to your group. For a proposal, read our notes on proposing in a balloon and tell us your plan when you book – we keep it quiet.

Good to know

Dietary needs

Tell us about allergies, vegetarian or other needs when you book. Much of the spread is naturally meat-free, and we let you know what we can adjust.

Eat light the night before

An early start after a heavy dinner is hard work. Have a light evening meal, drink water, and save your appetite for the breakfast after landing.

Warm by breakfast

The field is cold before sunrise but the sun is up when you eat. Bring a layer to take off so you are comfortable sitting on the rugs.

Weather comes first

If the pilot cancels for weather or safety, you choose a new date or a full refund. If it happens at the field, we drive you back to your hotel.

Questions about the breakfast on board

Is breakfast included on every balloon flight?

Yes. The traditional Moroccan breakfast after landing is part of all three of our flights, along with tea, coffee and msemen at the launch field. The breakfast on board option adds a breakfast served in the basket during the flight.

Are all “hot air balloon Marrakech with breakfast” offers the same?

No. Some offers mean a full breakfast seated near the landing area, others mean a snack before take-off. When you compare, ask where the breakfast is served, what is on the table and whether it is included in the price. With us the full breakfast after landing is always included.

Is the hot air balloon flight over Marrakech with traditional breakfast suitable for vegetarians?

Usually yes. Bread, msemen, olive oil, honey, amlou, eggs, olives, cheese and fruit juice make up the spread, so vegetarians eat well. For vegan, gluten-free or allergy needs, tell us when you book and we confirm what we can adjust.

Can I eat before the flight?

There is tea, coffee and msemen at the launch field while the balloons are inflated, which is enough for most people. The proper breakfast comes after landing, so we suggest not eating a large meal at the hotel beforehand.

How long does the breakfast last?

There is no stopwatch. Most guests spend a relaxed while at the tables after landing before the drive back. The whole morning, pickup to drop-off, takes about 4 to 5 hours, and you are back at your hotel late in the morning.

Can children have the breakfast too?

Of course. Children who fly with us share the same breakfast after landing, and the reduced child price covers it. Send us their ages when you book so we can confirm the price.
